Valencia

We left Denia midmorning and headed to Valencia about 120kms away. The place we stayed 12 days ago was our destination as it was well priced with all the facilities. The Valencia Camper Park were very helpful last time and again showed real hospitality. The campsite is convenient and it’s only a 300 metre walk to the station and tickets are available at the campsite. It took us 25 minute to the centre of town and we spent hours walking the streets and taking in the sights.

We knew that we would not be up to cooking that night and so before we left for our Valencia visit we booked a paella meal at the campsite. For 5 people it cost 40 euros and there was plenty to fill us up. Luckily we booked for 9.00 as we had not returned from town until 8.30 only giving us 30 minutes to tidy ourselves up and have a quick drink. The staff at the campsite restaurant were very friendly and the paella was just what we needed after a busy day driving and sightseeing. We all went to bed exhausted after a very busy day.

The next day we drove 280kms towards Barcelona to a beachside carpark where we thought would be a good spot to stay for the night. It was very windy and wild camping with 5 people on board is not as easy as with just the two of us. A campsite in the ACSI Card book was close by and chose that option and glad we did. The staff were very helpful and we had a quiet site with free wifi and all the facilities.

The next morning it was on to Barcelona as we had to be at the airport to pick up another family member Lori; Jenny’s sister. She was to arrive at 1.30. The drive to the airport was only 75 kms and we chose the non-toll roads which took us along the coast road with some spectacular views over the sea. More of our stay in Barcelona in the next post.

Enjoyed the blog and pictures as usual. Especially the photo of the stand full of paella pans. We are beachside in Metamorfosi, Greece. We cooked a seafood paella last night on a paella pan we purchased travelling through Spain last year. Safe travels with your extra passengers.
