A couple of quiet days, did some washing, reading and eating out in the little village.

It was quite warm and most of the Dutch campers were walking around in their bathers which we find quite strange. They are taking every advantage to get some sun on their skin.

We were asked if we wanted to go to Cesky Krumlov which is a Unesco World heritage site on the Monday evening for a guided tour with the campground owner, so for a very modest fee we agreed and about 8.30 we headed into town with a dutch couple in their car.

Chvalsny is a quiet village about 11 kms from Cesky Krumlov. There were about 20 of us and with the lady campsite owner we walked around the quiet streets enjoying the sights and stopping for coffee by the river in one of the cafes that had great views of the castle and river. As the sun set the lights on the castle and building gave a wonderful fairytale glow to the town and we enjoyed the visit and the friendly company of our fellow sightseers.

That night it started raining again and we decided to pack up and leave late in the morning. Our next task was to find a supermarket and spend our Czech money so we found a Tesco and filled our trolley with some groceries and drinks, while Astrid kept a record on her phone so we would not overspend. I don’t know how she did it , but when we got to the checkout we still had quite a bit of money left, so we decided to have lunch and a drink at the Cafe, then went back into the Tesco supermarket and spent the rest of the money. Money spent we headed south towards the Austrian border. The sun came out and the day ended up being quite warm and humid.
