Diesel full, water tank full, gas bottles full and an empty toilet ,we are ready to hit the road. It is an early start on Friday 8th of September as we wanted to beat some of the traffic and we have a few long days of driving ahead of us. We said our farewells to Martin and drove for most of the day the weather being very bleak and rainy. With a few frustrating road works and missed turns we traveled some 550 kilometers then decided to stop at a town called Joigny. Along the way we took a few strolls in some villages to stretch our legs.
Our overnight stay was very quiet and had a great view of the river.
Very quiet place next to the river.
The next day our destination was the castle Guedelon but driving through the village of Toucy we spotted a market, the castle would have to wait for another hour as we went to investigate. After purchasing olives, sausages and goats cheese we headed back to the Bunyip and was approached by a lady in a strange outfit. We found out that she was to be married and we had to write our names in permanent marker on her arm and she would give us a cookie.
After the market we did get to the castle but that will have to wait until the next blog. For people following our blog we are now in Morocco but our blogs are a week behind due to driving long days and having no internet. We will catch up as we now have our new sim card and internet on tap.
Nice to see you back on the road, good luck with that empty cassette. May well be a busy year for you in that regard.
