Our trip begins, but first we have to get to Europe which means a 13 hour flight, a three hour stopover in Dubai and then another 8 hour flight to Amsterdam. It’s something that we have to endure to be able to motorhome in Europe ,and in this case Morocco as well.
This years adventure will begin in Holland as usual as that is where our “Bunyip” lives. (our beloved motor home). From there we will travel through Belgium, France, Spain where we will catch a ferry to Morocco. We are hoping to spend about 4 weeks in Morocco and after the trip return via a different route.
As you can see we have brought along with us our “mini figs”. These are our lego mini me’s that our daughter Jade has organized. We are hoping that we will get some interesting photos as we take them with us on our adventure.
Hard to believe that this is trip number 9. When we first bought the Bunyip in 2009 we thought we would like to do a few trips and now we are up to our ninth. The Bunyip is still going well but showing signs of aging, it is over 20 years old.
Our flight was uneventful but in Amsterdam we had to wait for over a hour to get through passport control. Meanwhile Martin and Ewoud [our cousins] waited patiently for our arrival.
Martin has sold his last house and has moved about 300 meters to a very, very small house. For one person it has plenty of room and all the necessary facilities.
The song “Leaving on a jet plane” was written by John Denver and was a hit for “Peter, Paul and Mary” in the late sixties. I must be showing my age!!
Today it is Thursday 6th of September and we have spent the day getting ready for hitting the road tomorrow. We plan to leave early as we have planned to visit a castle on Saturday, more about that in our next blog post.
