If you are a Game of Thrones fan you will love this post, if you have never seen it, of are thinking “what is Game of Thrones” then you may want to give it a miss, for today we visited the Game of Thrones Studio Tour. We left our hilltop parking area after an egg and bacon breakfast and headed to a shopping centre in Banbridge. The Studio Tour has no parking onsite therefore a bus comes to the parking of the shopping complex and picks you up, its a 10-minute drive. Buses also come from Belfast where they collect people from the tourist information office. The tour is in one of the studio’s where Game of Thrones was filmed and they have many of the original sets, and others have been brought back to the complex for the exhibition. It is a self-guided tour which took us just over three hours, this included a coffee and scone at the halfway point for a break. Being Game of Throne fans, it was an incredible experience, incorporating how the series was made and all that went into the production.
Photos of our tour - Warning there are plenty - Did cut out half of what we took.
What better door of the day than one from the Game Of Thrones sets.
Back on the shuttle bus to the carpark, we headed off to the Mellifont Abbey, again a very narrow road to get there but we were rewarded with a flat car park with great views. The groundsman was onsite and even suggested where to park up for the night, very friendly and gave us some advice on other places to visit in the area.

Never watched GOT. But My husband’s niece lives in Banbridge. Had no idea it (or nearby) was a destination!
Did you get to eat scones on one of the set tables? 🙂
