We drove from our Pub stopover to a Park and Ride on the out skirts of Dublin. It was 4 euros for 24 hours and we could stay overnight. The train was a 20-minute ride to the centre of Dublin very convenient.
Dublin Day One
Our first day was spent doing a lot of walking and getting our bearings for tomorrows tours. Our walk took us through the famous Temple Bar area, full of tourists where the bars were hectic and probably overpriced.
St. Audoen's Church
The St Audoen’s Church was open and it was a pleasant change from the busy streets. It was more than a church, more of a museum with some displays of old Dublin.
The Brazen Head
We were told from a work college of Jenny’s that a bar to visit is the Brazen Head. It happened to be the oldest bar in Dublin and was packed with tourists drinking and eating, we did manage to find a table and have a drink.
Door of the day
During the day we walked past the University where we booked our tickets for the library and the “The Book of Kells’. Today was all full as was the Guinness Storehouse Tour. These would wait until tomorrow.
After a busy day it was back on the train to a quiet night ready for our big day that we had planned in Dublin take two.
