Denia and Altea

P1040269

It has been a while since our last post due to having family with us and spending most of the time socializing and relaxing.
After being on the move for over 4 months it was good to be in one place for more than a couple of days. Denia is on the coast between Valencia and Alicante see map. Our cousin Mike had the apartment and we booked it for 8 days, however while we were in Valencia he sent a message saying that we could us it earlier as he had just left an no-one was using it. Our 8 day stay turned into 12 days. Hot showers, a big bed, a washing machine, a fridge with a freezer big enough to have ice cream, the beach only 1 km away and a swimming pool 15 meters from the back door in a comfortable apartment, it will spoil us.

We arrived on Saturday and spent 4 days there on our before picking up our relatives. On Wednesday we drove to Valencia where we picked up Debbie, Jenny’s sister Greg her husband and Talia their daughter. They have been in Europe for a few weeks spending time in Berlin, Prague, Budapest and Vienna. For the next 8 days we sharing the unit in Denia with them before driving to Barcelona via Valencia.

During the 12 days in Denia we strolled on the beach, swam in the pool, visited the town, ate out at a few places and went for a couple of drives to see some nearby towns. But mainly we took it easy and relaxed glad to have the company of family to share the place with. We left the camera behind most times so only a few photos. It was a great time, and a welcome break from being on the road.

One of the highlights of our time there was a day out in Altea a 40 km drive from Denia where we strolled on the beach, had lunch and walked up the hill to the old town.
