It was a relatively short drive to Chefchaouen, we set up at the campground above the town where spent the next couple of days. The photos will show you why the place is called the blue town, it must have been the only paint in stock at the hardware store. Both afternoons we wandered down the hill to the town staying till late and catching a taxi back. Last time in 2009 it seemed a bit quieter, our taxi driver said that the place was more popular as it was a place where they made local tv shows and it was now a place for local Moroccans to visit.

Fridge drama
We noticed that the fridge was not keeping things cold, the freezer was the only thing working. Asking at the campsite office the reception man said he would organize a repairman to have a look at it. After waiting a day and no one showing up I decided to see what the internet had to say. Many people suggested that we turn the fridge upside-down for an hour and refit it. We met our neighbour Lutz, a friendly German and his wife in the square the previous night and invited them to join us for a meal. Next day he helped get the fridge out so it could be turned upside down and refitted. We greatly appreciated his generous help and even though their english was minimal we has some interesting and amusing conversations.
So after all that effort did it make a difference?
No!
At the time of writing this blog the freezer is still working and we can make ice. The fridge is staying cool but not really cold.
Big, bigger and biggest.
In the campsite came a truck motor home, then another and then came the biggest motorhome we have ever seen. A Dutch registered monster.
We will leave this blog with some of the sights at Chefchaouen. A few door photos especially for Robyn.
