Yesterday we had a fun afternoon set up beside the road for the tour de France. It was quite hot but luckily we were on a rise so had a reasonable breeze to cool us down. Ewout conned a Dutch couple into helping him make a show for the Aussies. Ewout wore his Koala head and made a bit of a show for the people around. It was a long wait though as we arrived at our spot about 12.00 and the race didn’t go by until about 5.30. Until then the road was busy with officials and then 45min before the race the Promotion Caravan went past throwing lots of goodies out to the crowd. Although the Koala was noticed a lot by the pre race traffic, unfortunately the bike race was at a stage of great interest as Lance Armstrongs team was making a surge for the front and so the cameras were not interested in the side show.

Maybe better luck next time, we plan our next Koala outing at half way in the race between towns of Durban-Corbiers and Caves.
